Air brakes practice test
Air brakes is where the written test catches people out. It is not hard, it is specific — pressure ranges, warning thresholds, and what each check is actually proving. Twenty-five short lessons teach it in order, then the test.
What it covers
- How the system works, from compressor to brake chamber
- The governor, air tanks, and the safety valve
- The low-air warning and when spring brakes apply on their own
- Brake lag, brake fade, and stopping distance
- Controlled braking, stab braking, and downgrades
- ABS, and the full pre-trip air brake check
The air brakes endorsement exam is 25 questions. Failing it puts an air-brake restriction on your licence.
